A mild, liquid detergent works best. Fabric softener or bleach should never be used as they may ruin the fabric besides they are already soft and will stay that way after washing.
With proper use and care, your bamboo sheets will give you many great nights of sleep. Please wash your sheets prior to their first use to ensure their softness and breathability. Machine wash is suitable as long as it’s cold (no more than 30 degrees) and washed separately from other garments. A liquid detergent is preferred but fabric softener and bleach should never to be used as it may ruin the fabric. When drying bamboo sheets, it’s best to let them air dry but if you must, a tumble dry on the gentlest setting should be alright. We strongly recommend a cold machine wash followed by a line or tumble dry on low. Never add bleach or fabric softener to a wash as it may ruin the fabric.
Drying And Stain Removal
If possible, line dry your sheets by draping them flat on the line to preserve fibres, colours and texture, you sheets will also straighten out when you line dry them! If you use a dryer, choose a low heat or airing setting and a low tumble cycle. As soon as the dryer finishes, remove your sheets from the dryer immediately to avoid wrinkles.
Bamboo fabric drapes very well. Wrinkles from washing and folding gradually go away in a few uses. Lay the sheets flat on your bed after washing and drying, by the time you hit the bed at night, they will be flat and fresh, ready to give you the good nights sleep you deserve. If you are after a crispier look, you can iron them at a low temperature.
It really depends on how the bamboo fabric is spun, the dyeing process and the anti-pilling treatments involved. At linenly, we only work with the manufacturers that have access to top quality materials and market-leading weaving and dyeing technology. Regardless, bamboo fabric is still susceptible to slight pilling especially in response to friction which shouldn’t be viewed as a fault or defect. If pilling occurs it can be reduced and or removed during the washing and drying process (as per the care instructions). To prevent excessive pilling, we suggest going to bed with soft clothing. In case of slight pilling, try to run a de-pilling brush over the fabric gently.
Along as you follow the laundry care instructions as outlined here on the website and on the packaging of your new sheets, there should be minimal shrinkage as they have been pre-washed and pre-shrunk. We have also included a small margin on the bedding size for unforeseen shrinkage. That said, we do not recommend drying your sheets in high heat.If you have any other questions, let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
